Due to the recent development work being carried out on Badrinath Highway, the road was free of any damage or obstacles and it resulted in pulling huge crowd on Monday. The tourists, who had reached Joshimath on Monday, could get back to their destinations by Tuesday evening.
Madan Mohan Sharma, a pilgrim from Delhi said that this is for the first time he has embarked on Badrinath pilgrimage. He reached Joshimath Monday morning itself. But he was waiting for the highway to be opened. As soon as the highway opened, he reached Badrinath to take the blessings of Lord Badri. Another tourist, Janak Verma from Madhya Pradesh said that they have been travelling in a group of 18. The group reached Srinagar on 2nd May but after seeing that there is a road blockage on the Badrinath they left for Kedarnath. Now that the road to Badrinath is cleared they can visit Badrinath as well. Janak added if your faith towards God is firm, the obstacles on the route can’t be a hindrance to your pilgrimage.
It is expected that the Badrinath Highway would be cleared of all blockages and the devotees can plan for a pilgrimage to Badrinath easily.
